Obituary for O'CONNELL

Juanita Boling O'Connell, 78. Mrs. O'Connell died of a massive stroke on August 23, 2006, in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Boling and Ida Porter, and by her oldest daughter, Jean, a UNM student who died in July, 1972. Mrs. O'Connell, a native of Missouri, had lived with her family in Missouri, both Southern and Northern New Mexico, Southern Arizona, and Northern California. She retired to Rio Rancho in 1992, living at 4709 Pepe Ortiz, Rio Rancho. A graduate of San Jose State University/Sociology, she had worked as an editor and secretary at SRI International of Menlo Park, CA. She leaves a husband, Daniel F. O'Connell, and son, Daniel T. O'Connell, both of the home. Her other children include, Alice Jensen, of Austin, TX; Carmel O'Connell, of San Francisco, CA; Kevin O'Connell, of Omaha, NE; Rita Rivas of San Jose, CA; and Susan Weissberg of Arroyo Grande, CA; and seven grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, the Rev. Donald Boling of Waco, TX and Norman Boling, of Blue Springs, MO. She was a skilled quilter and chairwoman of The Quilting Group, of Meadowlark Senior Center, Rio Rancho, and a member of Friends of the Rio Rancho Public Library. Reading, Bible Study, and Travel were among her favorite pastimes. She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Liberal Catholic Church. Funeral Arrangements are pending.
