Obituary for MILLER

Rosemary Gonzalez Miller died peacefully at home on the evening of August 14, 2006, after bravely facing a recurrence of breast cancer. Her parents, Raymond and Rica Gonzalez preceded her in death. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 41 years, Henry G. Miller; sisters, Kathleen and Theresa Gonzalez; daughter, Eldaa Daily; and her first grandchild, Rosemary Ann Daily. Born in New York City on August 5, 1942, Rosemary moved to Albuquerque with her parents at the age of 7. She was a member of the first graduating class of St. Pius X High School (1960) and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology. She did her internship in Medical Technology at the Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL and worked as Clinical Microbiologist until a few months before her death. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with loved ones, travel, watching classic films, and collecting first editions books about the Southwest. She was a dedicated Newman Center parishioner at the University of New Mexico where she and her husband were married. A Memorial Service will be held at the Center, 1815 Las Lomas, NE, at 10:00 a.m. on September 2, 2006. A private interment will follow on September 5, 2006. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the VistaCare Foundation to assist others facing terminal illness.
