Juan D. Sanchez was born October 18, 1928 in Peralta, NM where he was a lifelong resident. He passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006 in Albuquerque after a long illness. Juan was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from General Electric Co. after 20 years of service. Juan was preceded in death by his father, Luis M. Sanchez; his mother, Soledad Sanchez; his brother, Frank A. Sanchez; and his sister, Adelaida Maes. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Priscilla Sanchez of the family home in Peralta; two sons, Louis A. Sanchez, Juan D. Sanchez Jr. and wife, Amanda of Los Lunas; one sister, Mina Sanchez of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Patricia Torrez of Los Lunas; special cousins, Palmita and Salvador Valdivia of Banning, CA, Teresita Davis of Palm Springs, CA, Reyito and Leo Barrajas of Baldwin Park, CA; grandchildren, Chris Sanchez and wife, Paulette of Albuquerque, Josephine Sanchez of Hawaii, Desiree, Victoria, Luke, and Agustus Sanchez, Amanda Torrez, and Nicholas Martinez; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Elijah Sanchez. He is also survived his brothers and his sisters-in-law, Florian Maes, Marcelino J. Cordova and wife, Eva, Peter Cordova and wife, Theresa, Bibian Cordova and wife, Noreen, and Josephine Artiaga of Chula Vista, CA, and Eva Cordova of Rio Rancho; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. A brief reception will follow the Mass in the Parish Hall. The family will then proceed to Santa Fe National Cemetery where the burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. with U.S. Army Honors.
