Her engaging, charismatic personality and glamorous looks helped to create a resume, which included fashion, hospitality, food and beverage, and sales. During the 1960s in Las Vegas, NV, Phyllis modeled for designer boutiques and worked in exclusive hotels and casinos, including Caesar's Palace and the Sands. Here in Albuquerque, she was the office manager at the Albuquerque Business College, managed cash accounting for Cee Vee Concessions at the New Mexico State Fair and was the general manager of the High Noon Restaurant in Old Town. In 1988, Phyllis launched her very successful Mary Kay business, which she continued to work in until the very end of her life.
