Lucia C. Rivera., age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, was taken home by the Lord our Savior, Friday, August 11, 2006. Mrs. Rivera was a resident of Algodones, formerly of Sile, NM. She was a member of the Catholic Church, where she devoted many years as a Catechism Teacher. She will be remembered by many for her homemade bread, cakes, and cooking; and the love she showed everyone. She was involved with the Bernalillo Senior Citizen Center, where she enjoyed quilting, going to the Casino and seeing her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Rivera; infant daughter, Evangeline Rivera; three sisters, Dolores Diaz, Emma Stevens, Beatrice Torres; grandson, Maros Duran. Lucia survived by two sons, Ricardo Rivera and wife, Lillian, Benjamin Rivera Sr. and wife, Margie; three daughters, Delfinia Rivera, Theresa Bustamante, Evangeline (Vangie) Duran and husband Steven; 15 grandchildren, Laura, Annabelle, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Jr., Donald, Ronald, Marlene, Michael, Efren, Danny, Anthony, Angela, Lorenzo, Eperanza, and Santana; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends. Lucia will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitations will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 8:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the Sile Community Cemetery in Sile, NM. Casket bearers will be Donald Rivera, Ronald Rivera, Benjamin Rivera, Jr., Steven Duran, Tim Lucero, Tim Paez.
