Obituary for VALENTE

Eligio "Al" Valente, age 83, a resident of Los Lunas, died at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque on Wednesday, August 8, 2006 due to illness. He was born in Asbury Park, NJ and later moved to New Mexico in 1959. He was a long term resident of Santa Fe and Chimayo, NM. He honorably served in the Air Force during World War II and was a retired Navy Reservist. In addition, he retired from the State of New Mexico. Al was the first president of the NM Alliance of the Mentally Ill. Al is survived by his wife Jennie of 53 years; his daughter, Valerie Seymour of Tome, NM; son, Alan Valente and wife, Christine of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Anna Level and husband, Rex of Los Lunas, NM; granddaughter, Jennifer Seymour; grandson, Jeremy Seymour; granddaughter, Karen Seymour; great-grandson, Skyler Seymour; and in addition, he is survived by his brother, Arthur Valente; step-sisters, Gloria and Antoinette of New Jersey; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas on Wednesday, August 16, 1006. The Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.; the Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with U.S. Military Honors.
