Phyllis J. Baird Muth, 77, passed away on August 9, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand. Phyllis was born in Boone, Iowa where she began her long teaching career. She moved to New Mexico and taught in Los Alamos and with Albuquerque Public Schools until her retirement in 1984. After retirement, she volunteered at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center where she could share her knowledge of New Mexico history. She will be dearly missed by many coworkers, friends and especially her "Uno Gang" friends: Laurie Gariher, Theresa Sanchez and Rita Ortiz. Two things in life that brought her the most pleasure (besides her dogs) were music and art. As a result of her passion she has established a scholarship through the Fine Arts Department at UNM. No services will be held and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Association or the scholarship fund.
