Obituary for WEAGLEY

Donald W. Weagley passed away early August 11, 2006 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Betty of 54 years; and son ,Jeff and wife, Stephanie. He was born on May 12, 1922 in Ames, IA and served in a CID unit in WWII. Don came to Albuquerque in 1952 from Phoenix, AZ as a new homes sales manager for Hoffmantown. He and Betty founded their own real estate office, Weagley Agency, in 1953 and built it into one of the largest and most successful real estate offices in the State receiving numerous awards. He was named Realtor of the Year, served on the State of NM Construction Board, was a vice president and life member of the Albuquerque Board of Realtors, and worked on many community projects. He served on the board of directors of American Savings and Loan and Western Bank. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, a Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine Center. He was a loving husband and father, enjoyed music, was an avid reader, and dog lover. Among his favorite quotes were, "Trust in God", "Value a Man's Handshake", "There is Good in Every Soul", and "A Slow Nickel Beats a Fast Dime".
