Obituary for HUDSON

Barbara Sue (Thompson) Hudson, 11305 Biscayne Drive NE, Albuquerque, NM died Thursday, July 20, 2006 of apparent heart failure. Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of Rev. Charles A. Thompson Sr. and Carrie Susan (Provence) Thompson, both deceased. She was born February 26, 1942 in Muskogee, OK where she attended secondary school. Mrs. Hudson was the widow of the late Limuel Webster Hudson Jr. (1941 - 2003) The family had lived in Albuquerque beginning in 1965, and continuously since 1982. There were two children by this union: Limuel Webster Hudson III (Trey) who preceded her in death in 1995, and Dameon Michael Hudson of Coffeyville, KS. Mrs. Hudson received a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master's in Education from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK and continuing post-graduate work at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. She began teaching in the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1965 and retired from same in May 2005, having spent in excess of ten of her last years in Jackson Middle School. Mrs. Hudson had been a member of St. Chad Episcopal Church since 1982. A Memorial Service was held in her honor at the First Methodist, Adair, OK. She is survived by her son, Dameon; and grandson, Dominic of Coffeyville, KS; three brothers, Charles of Owasso, OK, Morgan (Pat) of Midwest City, OK, and Mike of Coffeyville, KS. She is also survived by two sisters, Gwen Campbell of Norman, OK and Ruth Sutton of Tulsa, OK. Her ashes were interred in Adair Cemetery beside her mother and son, Trey on Friday, August 4, 2006.
