Obituary for BECKER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 06, 2006

Nona Jane Becker, born June 17, 1926 in Manassa, CO was called to the Lord on July 22, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hazel Colburn and two brothers, Mervin and Lloyd Colburn. Her life was full and she touched many lives during her years, most especially her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Dr. Leonard Becker for 46 years. The love she held for her family was unparallel. Her efforts and toil to make everyday and every event in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and friends are special. The cherished memories that we each hold will last our lifetimes. The countless special things she has done for her grandchildren, Courtney and Dylan Maulden are a testament of her over-flowing love. For all of us that have been touched by her life our lives have been blessed. We will miss her smile that was always beautiful but toward the end was the highlight of our days. She was a wonderful cook and toiled endlessly in the kitchen preparing gourmet meals for her family. We honor her life and the many good things she did in her lifetime. She had a strong commitment to healthcare that began in Mountainair, NM, where she worked along side her husband running a small hospital. Form there she moved to Albuquerque where she continued to help her husband in his practice. In 1974 she moved to Elephant Butte, NM where again she worked with her husband. She was very caring and tried to do all she could for their patients. She was continually going above and beyond to help make peoples lives better. She was a long time member of the PEO. She had a love for genealology and was a proud member of the Pike Family Association. We will miss you so much and await the day of reunion. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and caring people at university Hospital CRTC and to Ambercare Hospice for helping make Nona Becker's life better through her illness. Per her wishes cremation has taken place with a small service for her family.
