Gregory Brooks Medara and Lauda Jane (Miles) Medara died Saturday, July 29, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. Greg and Lauda would have celebrated their second anniversary on September 4. They were taken in a car accident on their way home from visiting a lifelong friend. Lauda was born in Clovis, NM on July 20, 1959. She graduated from Roswell High School in 1977 after being named Most Beautiful of her class and received a Bachelor's Degree from the Anderson School of Business at UNM in 1989. Lauda was the Chief Financial Officer of High Desert Investment Corporation, and had been with the company for fourteen years. She enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, travel and - most importantly - being with family and friends. Greg was born May 25, 1971 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated high school in Oakton, VA in 1989, and received a Bachelor's degree in marketing from Bentley College in 1993. Greg was an account executive with the Weekly Alibi in Albuquerque. Greg was an avid skier, golfer and mountain biker and enjoyed traveling with Lauda. Friends could always tell if Greg and Lauda were around before they ever saw them, as Lauda's one-of-a-kind laugh would fill the room, or you could follow the scent of a good cigar to find Greg. Greg and Lauda are survived by their parents - Lauda's father, Roy V. Miles and his wife, Jetta of Roswell, NM; her mother, Sondra K. Carley and her husband, Douglas of Pensacola, FL; Greg's parents, Don and Donna Medara of Green Cove Springs, FL; Lauda's siblings, Autumn Marie Miles and Tori Lynne Miles of Midland, TX, Melanie and her husband, Mark Schwaner of Albuquerque, Kevin and his wife, Linda Zimmerman of El Paso, TX, Casey Daigle of Mobile, AL, David Carley of Ocean Springs, MS, Duane and his wife, Cathy Carley of Mobile, AL, and Tom and his wife, Cheri Hyder of Pensacola, FL; Greg's brothers, David Medara and wife, Emma of Moab, UT, Thomas Medara and wife, Shirrel of Bellevue, NE, and Christopher Medara of Manchester, NH; ten nephews and nieces; eight great-nieces and -nephews; and too many friends to count. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, 3:00 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution Ave. NE, officiated by Lauda and Greg's pastor and friend, Dr. Roy Elmore.
