Obituary for HOWARD

Dorothy L. Howard, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, since 1991, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Flois, on September 18, 2003. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lynda Howard; her son, Thomas, both of Albuquerque; a granddaughter, Jessie L. Howard of Taos; her sister, Doris First of Hemet, CA; a sister-in-law, June Crites of San Diego, CA; and various other family members. She was born November 14, 1921 in Burlington, CO. Dorothy moved with her family during her early teen years to California where she was raised. She met her future husband, Flois, after his return from military service in World War II. They married on February 11, 1946 and lived in Texas for the next 46 years. Dorothy was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the Nile; Dorothy was a life member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, and the DAV. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006 in the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, located in Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Linda Broda-Pribble. Interment will follow.
