Robert Lewis Anderson Born on August 16, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA, Bob passed away on July 5, 2006 in Tucson, AZ, while surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Ruth Anderson. Bob is survived by loving wife of 55 years, Doris Gridley; sister, Carolyn Morris (Gary); children, Susan (John Attwood), Bruce (Rebecca), Beverly; grandsons, Jerrod and Clinton; three nieces; plus many friends, including Kim and Michael Delbecq, from Albuquerque, NM, who are part of the family. Bob attended the University of Arizona where he played football for the Wildcats. He graduated from U of A in 1954 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. It was at the U of A that he met the love of his life, Doris Gridley. Bob served his country in the 7th Armored Division, as a tank commander during the Korean War. He left the military after attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Bob and Doris raised their family in Arizona and then moved to Albuquerque in 1987 where they lived for 13 years before returning to Tucson to retire. Bob loved all things outdoors, ranging from fishing in the White Mountains with family and friends, to walking his adoring canine companion, Sadie. He was a big fan of U of A basketball and football, and was truly a Wildcat to the bone. He will be missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Leukemia Society of America.
