John Virgil Wesch was born December 11, 1925. He passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006. John was a "child of the desert", always believing in the simple and practical things of life. He had a love for jazz music and had great abilities on the saxophone, clarinet and most any other instrument he decided to play. An avid outdoorsman, John was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target shooting and reloading. He proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army and the US Navy Seabees, serving in the Occupation of Japan during WWII. John later retired to Artesia, New Mexico. He is survived by his ex-wife, Marguerite Wesch; five children, David, Ken, Johnny, Joseph and Cecilia; five grandchildren, Bless, Katie, Leif, Brenna and Roman; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held at East Gate Church, 12120 Copper Ave. NE, near Juan Tabo and I-40, on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with US Navy Honors.
