Dan Martinez, 51, a resident of Stanley, NM, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Gail P. Martinez of Stanley, NM; mother, Alice Doyle of Albuquerque; sister, Denise Ross of Albuquerque; brothers, Don Martinez, Dave Martinez, and Dominic Martinez, all of Albuquerque; nephew, Nathan Ross; nieces, Felicia Martinez, Jenny Martinez, Alexandra Martinez, and Nicole Stratton, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel G. Martinez. Dan was a great athlete. He loved baseball and softball. He was a jack of all trades and loved working with his hands. Dan was very innovative and creative, he could do most anything. He was a self-made man, a perfectionist who took great pride in everything he did. Dan felt most comfortable when he was in the mountains or around nature and animals, especially dogs. He was a soft-spoken "gentle giant" who many looked up to for his great courage and strength. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2006 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
