James Kelly Pinkston, 41, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2006, at his home. Kelly is survived by his wife, Lynette, of the family home; daughter, Nancille; son, Christopher Pinkston; step-daughter, Mila Stublefield; his parents, Kelton and Darra (Cassano) Pinkston; his second set of parents, his special father, Wade, and Mary Lou Scott; two sisters, Nancille, and husband, Rob Daniel; Melody, and husband, Tony Dalton, both of Albuquerque; half-sister, Karesa Roberts, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kelly is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Cassano and Mildred Myers, and Ruby and Horace Pinkston. He was born on March 19, 1965, in Belen, NM. Kelly married Lynette Stublefield on June 25, 2005, in Albuquerque, NM. He retired from Albuquerque Fire Department in 1992, and went into law enforcement focusing on security. He graduated with an honors degree from Pima Medical Institute as a Pharmacy Technician. After graduation Kelly worked for Express Scripts in Albuquerque. He then began teaching at Apollo College for Pharmacy Technicians for one year. Kelly became a BLS/ CPR instructor for the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus. He started a business with his wife in Career Training Services. He also trained and worked with the Meadowlake Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and remodeling homes. Kelly was an excellent cook, and loved spending time working on his garden and designing outdoor landscaping. He loved working with aquariums and enjoyed working with his own show dogs. Kelly excelled in everything he put his hand to and perfected everything he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor John Ross officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday, June 22, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Once a Firefighter always a Firefighter.
