Sandra Moya Chavez, age 45, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2006, after fighting her long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Artie Moya; paternal grandparents, Perfecto and Anita Moya; and maternal grandparents, Manual and Delesfora Montano. Sandra was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Andrew Chavez, of 29 years. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Andrea Chavez of Los Lunas; her mother, Fedelina Valenzuela and her husband, Ramon of Los Lunas; mother-in-law, Carol Chavez; father-in-law, Sisto Chavez of Valencia; sisters-in-law, Liz Sevin and her husband, Jon of Los Lunas and Yvonne Chavez and her husband, Johnny of Ruidoso, NM; niece, Felicia Moya; many other extended family members and friends. Sandra was loved by those that knew her for her outspoken caring words, her sense of humor, and of course her red lips. She will be dearly missed by many. She was a fighter. Services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. to be recited by Deacon Joe Trujillo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Albert Gallegos officiating. Cremation will take place following the Services with a private family interment to take place at a later date.
