Martin Schliebe, 99, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 33 years, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. Martin was born November 11, 1906 the son of Herman C. F. and Augusta Krage Schliebe in Columbia, South Dakota. He was a full time Lutheran Pastor for 40 years before retiring and moving to New Mexico from Michigan in 1973. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 1998. In 2001 he married Vivian Johnson who also preceded him in death, as did his son, Ronald. Martin is survived by his daughter, Sharon Helms of Silver Springs, MD; daughter-in-law, Nancy Schliebe of Allenton, MI; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2006 from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Service on Monday, June 12, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with Reverend Robert Pinta officiating.
