Obituary for COOPER

Theodora Cooper, 99, born in Oscoda, MI in 1907, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006 after a short illness. She was preceded by her husband, Dr. Ray Cooper and her eight siblings. She is survived by her only child, Foster Cooper of Albuquerque, and several nieces and nephews. Teddy earned a Life Certificate in teaching from Ypsilanta State Teachers College in Michigan in 1926, where she taught in several rural and urban schools. She continued teaching at Sandia Base Elementary School in 1948, graduated from UNM in 1950, and retired from Sandia in 1972. She was active in AAUW and was an officer of the NM Council of Mathematics Teachers. A charitable donation in lieu of flowers is suggested. Interment will be in Oscoda, MI.
