Obituary for CARTER

Theresa Maria Carter, 74, our angel from God, was called to Heaven on Thursday, June 8, 2006. She was born on December 23, 1931 in Antonito, CO. She is survived by her sons, James Gregory, Phillip Anthony, and Alan and wife, Lala; grandchildren, Paul and Savannah; brothers, Tony and wife, Viola, Teddy and wife, Vicky, Abe and wife, Helen and Pete; sisters, Epi and husband, Walter, and Viola; and sister-in-law, Ruth Lobato. She is also survived by her loving friend and special caretaker, Rose Davis. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Carter; father, Teodoro Lobato; mother, Ruby Jaramillo Lobato; and grandson, Joseph Alexander Carter. Theresa enjoyed traveling, especially to South Fork, CO where she would share precious moments with friends and family. There she could enjoy the beauty of the San Juan Mountains, engage in friendly games of poker and just celebrate life. She was also an accomplished bowler whose many trophies accumulated faster than the space to store them. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Las Palomas Nursing Home, to whom Theresa was greatly endeared. Rosary will be recited Saturday, June 10, 2006, 7:30 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 11, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home in Antonito, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 12, 2006, 1:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos, CO.
