Dubijinia C. "Dubie" Barreras went to the Lord on June 3, 2006. She was born August 7, 1914 in San Mateo, NM to Abran and Dubijinia M. Chavez. Dubie was preceded in death by her husband, Epimenio "Pewee" Barreras; her parents; brothers, Mike Chavez, Solomon Chavez, Charlie Chavez, Juan Chavez, Abe Chavez, and Phil Chavez; sisters, Leonore McBride, Perfie Sachs, and Lala Werick; and grandson, Adam Campos. She is survived by one sister, Eliza Garcia, of Albuquerque; sons, Reuben Barreras and wife, Rachel, David Barreras and wife, Evelyn (Sugie); daughter, Elizabeth Pena, of Gallup; grandchildren, Gabriel Armijo and wife, Mary Ann, Carol Jean Campos and husband, Abel and Phillip Pena, of Gallup, Michelle Farnol and husband, Johnny, of Chandler, AZ; and many "Loving" great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Dubie was a resident of Gallup since 1965. The family would like to thank the staff at Arbor Creek Camino Vista Nursing home and everyone at Heartland Hospice Services who helped to ease her pain in the last few days of her life.
