Lucio "Val" Valdez Jr. a resident of Albuquerque for the past two years, formerly of Gallup passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006. He was survived by his loving wife Roslyn B. Valdez of Albuquerque; daughter, Rosemary Rueckhaus of Albuquerque; sons, Thomas E. Valdez and wife, Cheryl of Albuquerque, Gerald L. Valdez and wife, Charlotte of Gallup, Martin J. Valdez and wife, Roberta of Albuquerque, and Andre E. Valdez; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Lucio served as a board member of the R.M.C.H. for 9 years, he also was a member of the Elks Lodge #1440, the VFW, the F.O.P., and The American Legion. Lucio was the district manager for American National Insurance for 30 years. A Memorial Service for Lucio will be held Monday, June 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Chapel with inurnment to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
