Obituary for DAVIES

Debra Lynn Davies, 49, of Bosque del Apache, passed away on May 26, 2006 after a brief illness. Debra, daughter of William and Helen Davies of Mesa, AZ, is also survived by her brother, Donald Davies; nephew, Patrick Davies; and great-nephew. Debra's educational accomplishments included a BA in agricultural engineering from Arizona State University and MA in civil engineering from Washington State University. The last 10 years of her distinguished career were spent in Socorro County with positions at both Sevilleta and Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuges. At the time of her death Debra was acting manager of Bosque del Apache NWR. Debra loved the rivers and deserts of the southwest. An active hiker, skier, rock climber, and kayaker, she had recently kayaked the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and hut skied in Colorado. Debra touched many lives during her time with us and will be missed by her family and the many friends who loved her deeply. Her Memorial is Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Bosque del Apache NWR.
