Obituary for REED

Arlie Dee Reed, 83, went to meet the Lord, May 28, 2006. He was born June 13, 1922, in Lynn County, TX, a son of James Oliver and Mary Tobatha Wood Reed. He married Elma Juanita Powers, August 29, 1942 in Lubbock, TX; they were married 63 years. He served in the Army Air Corp for 3 years and 3 months as an Aerial Engineer during World War II. He worked as a Power Production Superintendent for 34 years at Manzano Base and Kirtland Air Force Base. After his retirement, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for 15 years for Albuquerque Manor (Princeton Place). He was a member of the Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ where he served two terms as Elder, and was presently a Deacon. Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of Albuquerque; two daughters and one son, Sheryl and husband, John Arvey, and Karen Holwick all of Albuquerque; Les Reed, Oklahoma City, OK; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Nadine Dikes, Mineral Wells, TX. He was preceded in death by eight sisters, and one brother. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque. Friends may call Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
