Marcos Romero, age 91, a resident of Belen, NM, for 40 years passed away May 26, 2006 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Griselda; his wife Leonor, the mother of his 12 children; his parents, Juanita and Juan C. Romero; his brother, Jose Romero; and his sister, Carmen Sanchez His wife, Julia, and his six daughters and five sons survive him. Rae and her husband, Rupert Byers, Trinnie and her husband, Robert Bridge, Gilbert and his wife, Lorraine, Rosie and her husband, James Maroone, Nancy and her husband, Jay Barnwell, Florida and her husband, Guadalupe Baldonado, Wilfred, Nellie and her husband, David Sonnenberg, Marcos Jr. and his wife, Sharon, Steven and his wife, Frances, and Juan and his wife, Ilona; 31 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; five brothers and one sister. All Services will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a viewing from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A final viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be some of his grandsons, Michael, Scott, Nick, Gilbert, Derek, Benjamin, DJ, Ryan, Almonzo, and Josh. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
