Herman Padilla, age 52, our loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Monday, May 15, 2006. Herman loved to read the Bible and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Herman's favorite pastime was watching basketball, especially the Dallas Mavericks, his favorite team. He enjoyed working at a variety of different jobs and will be remembered for his beautiful smile. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, David "Ben" Padilla and his mother, Mary Ellen who passed away tragically, Monday, May 1, 2006. He is survived by his son, Arthur "PD" Gutierrez and wife, Lucia; grandmother, Luby Lopez; brother, Freddie Padilla and wife, Yvonne; three sisters, Beatrice Padilla, Dorothy Chavez, and Patricia Padilla; four grandchildren, Letissya, Janessa, Adrian, and Mariah; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 with burial following at Los Padillas Cemetery on South Coors. Pallbearers will be Eusebio Romero, Gabriel Lopez, Marty Padilla, Johnny Montoya, Joe Chavez, Estevan Herrera, BJ Padilla, and Jerry Sanchez.
