Obituary for HARTLEY

James A. Hartley, 89, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 16, 2006, in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his son, Douglas Hartley, and wife, Cynde; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hartley. James was born January 27, 1917, in York, PA, to James A. and Sarah Douglas Hartley. He had a passion for planes which allowed him to make a career working for the United States Air Force. He was an air craft inspector for "Air Force One" from 1968 to 1980. After retirement James remained active in aviation as a docent for the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. In 1981, James and his wife moved to Albuquerque where he became a docent at the New Mexico Natural History Museum. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 21, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Reverend Roland McGregor officiating.
