Robert NM Poet Robert Lloyd, 78, known to his many friends as Wombat, died May 9 in Albuquerque from heart failure. Lloyd was a scholar with wide ranging interests, a German translator, and chef who had lived in New Mexico since l951. He touched the lives and imaginations of countless people in New Mexico who loved him dearly. His work was recently published in "In Company: an Anthology of New Mexico Poetsafter l960, UNM Press. He is survived by his daughter Emma Louise Lloyd of Michigan. A memorial gathering will be announced.
