John Chester Boydston passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the age of 78. John was born January 26, 1928 in Abilene, TX, served in the United States Army, and lived the majority of his life in Albuquerque, NM. Those that knew John well knew he was honest, generous, and was a man of integrity. John was a prominent businessman in Albuquerque, as founder and president of Bomur Electric and Bomur Business Telephones. John was an avid fisherman, consummate handyman, enjoyed woodworking, and loved to travel. In their retirement years, John and Joycie split their time between Rio Rancho and a mountain home in Vadito, NM. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Chester and Alice Boydston; his sister, Golda Brown; and his brother, Sonny Boydston. He is survived by his wife, Joyce "Joycie" Boydston; his sister, Johnie Franks; his children, Mary Helen Kugler and husband, Randall, Yolanda Flowers and husband, Owen, Tom Boydston and wife, Amy, Teri Driscoll and husband, Tim, Michael Uhlmansiek and wife, Jeri, Andy Uhlmansiek, LaDonna Mamber; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews including his long-time business partner, Keith Boydston. John will be missed by his loving and spoiled dog, Brady. Small family Services were held on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at his mountain home.
