Obituary for DETTER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday May 06, 2006

Jeremy Lee Detter, 5, a lifelong resident of Rio Rancho, NM, became an Angel in Heaven on May 2, 2006 at UNM Hospital with his family by his side. Jeremy was born on September 21, 2000 in Albuquerque to Jerry and Melanie Detter. His parents' first thought of their baby was, "He's perfect! We want another one!" Jeremy was fascinated by dinosaurs, Red (and only red) Power Rangers, Tom & Jerry cartoons, Spiderman, Shrek, Elmo, and Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter. Jeremy was very loving and protective of his brothers, Mykah, Eric, Shawn, and sister, Lindsey. He was very complimentary and liked to say, "I love you." Jeremy could roar like a dinosaur and especially liked to share his dinosaurs with his favorite nurse, Steve. Like any child, he loved macaroni and cheese, Cheetos, Pizza Rolls, and only "Big Slices" of pizza, not the personal size pizzas. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Detter, in 2002. He is survived by his parents and siblings; great-grandparents, Velma Grumment, Ruth Detter, Mary Jonssen, Bertha Taylor; grandparents, Darrel and Lois Detter, Mattie Jonsson, and George and Becky Jonsson; aunts, Debra Turnbull and husband, Joe, Marina Collazo, Melissa Stubblefield and husband, Shane, and Mechell Hobbs; cousins, Brandon and Brett Christian, Andrew and Cody Turnbull, Samantha and Alexandria Collazo, Matthew and Jonathon Crittenden, and Jenna Stubblefield, and Billy Hobbs, and Jordon G. Williams. A visitation will be held Friday, May 5, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Shepherd of the Lutheran Church, 3900 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. Sunrise Funeral Options 2400 Southern Blvd. SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124 505-891-9192
