Richard A. Michael, Sr., age 84, of Albuquerque, died suddenly on Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Mathias Barrett Council. Richard was a founding member of the Barrett House Homeless Shelter in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Richard, III, and Rosemarie; brother; Lee J.; 15 step-children; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela; sister, Rose; and brother, Fred. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW, with Father Frank Prieto and Father John Conway officiating.
