Obituary for MEYER

TSgt. Donald R. Meyer, USMC, 85, an Albuquerque resident, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home with his family by his side on Monday, May 1, 2006. Don was born on December 17, 1920 in Wapakoneta, OH. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and worked as the Base Supply Officer (civil service) at Sandia Base until his retirement. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will always be loved, remembered and missed by all who knew him. Don was preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years, Madolyn F. Meyer on March 2, 1975 and is survived by his second wife of 30 years, Margaret G. Meyer; his first daughter, Dianna E. Cunningham and husband, Darrel and their children, Robert Cunningham, Phillip Cunningham, and Anne Thornstenson with numerous grandchildren; his second daughter, Margaret L. Williams and husband, Fredrick and their children, Lia d'Arlach, Holli Bonacquisti, Oriana Williams, and Christina Williams; and his son, Joseph R. Meyer and his children, Christopher D. Meyer, Daniel J. Meyer, and stepson, Nicholas Gonzales. Visitation and Rosary will be at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. A celebration mass of Don's life will be at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church, 11 College Drive, Santa Fe, Friday, May 5, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made, in Don's name, to the Carmelite Monastery at 49 Mount Carmel Rd., Santa Fe, NM, 87505.
