Eshter Polcyn Kubas -91- of Los Alamos and formerly of Albuquerque, went gently in the night on May 1, 2006 at Sombrillo Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kubas, Jr.; parents, Vincent and Mary Polcyn; sister, Eleanor Pickler; and a grandson, Kelly Richmond. Mrs. Kubas was born on January 8, 1915 in Cleveland, OH and worked for many years as a secretary, bookkeeper, clerk, and typist. She loved nature, gardening, and roses and was dedicated to her family and along with her husband, encouraged their children to attain an education. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Albuquerque. She is survived by her children: Gregory Kubas and wife, Chrystal of Santa Fe, Joseph Kubas and wife, Yolanda of Texas; brother, Arthur Polcyn and wife, Adeline of San Diego, CA; aunt-in-law, Bernice Ursich and husband, Tony and family of Cleveland, OH; niece-in-law, Mary Mucha; niece, Lois Skora of Cleveland, OH; daughter-in-law, Barbara Rogers and husband, Randy of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Sarah and Matthew Kubas and Sherry Lopez of Albuquerque, and Sherry Lopez and husband, Joseph of Pojoaque; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Lopez and Catherine Lopez; cousins, Evelyn Kruszinski and Beatrice Pannent of Cleveland, OH. The family has asked that Memorial Contributions be directed to the Kelly Richmond Scholarship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be held today, May 4, 2006 at McGee Memorial Chapel from 11:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santuario de Guadalupe Church.
