Obituary for RUIZ

Jacobita (Jackie), born April 5, 1915 in Escobosa, NM, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the age of 91. She was survived by her companion of 14 years, Adrian Montoya; and loving children, Mac Ruiz (Margie), Josie Gonzales, Eloisa Lopez, (Simon), Alex Ruiz (Corine), Helen Compton, (Dan), Orlando Ruiz, (Judy), and Shelly Carrion, (Chris); 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Sadie Mendez from California; and sister-in-law, Carmen Sandoval. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Eliseo Ruiz in 1980; her parents; brothers; and a sister. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church where she and Adrian attended on a regular basis. She will always be remembered for her beautiful Thanksgiving prayer and memorable blessings when her family was leaving on a trip. Jackie seemed to become everyone's "Grandma Jackie" because of her tender loving spirit she naturally carried. Services for Jackie will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SW. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Edith and Odelia NW. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony Nieto, Jr., Steve Ruiz, (David Villarreal), Christopher Ruiz, Rudy Anaya, Michael Duran, and great-grandson, Nathan Lueras. Honorary pallbearers will be her five granddaughters, Shelly Carrion, Diane Resendez, Connie Millar, Terry Erwin, Irene Lunneborg, and Naomi Villarreal.
