Hallie Catherine Scott Sanders, 87, an Albuquerque resident since 1958, died Sunday, April 30, 2006. She is survived by her children, Chery Mehalko and husband, John of Omaha, NE, Chris Sanders and wife, Pam of Las Cruces, NM and Cindy Youngs and husband, Martin of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Eric Mehalko, Lisa Koch, Bradley Sanders, Clinton Sanders and wife, Michelle, Cory Sanders and Julia Youngs; 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, William W. "Bill" Sanders in 1983 and her sisters, Mary V. Goltry, Frances Burnworth, and Rubie Wardlow. She was born in Carnegie, OK on July 27, 1918. She graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women with a degree in education and began a dedicated profession in teaching. Hallie was a former Executive Director of the Girl Scout program in Oklahoma. She was active in church work, community activities and PEO. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2006 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Rev. M. Ron Cross, officiating. Interment will take place at Lone Star Cemetery in Rocky, OK on Saturday, May 6, 2006. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Hallie's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4004 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
