Leon W. Brewer, 81, died on April 30, 2006 after an extended illness. Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife of over 60 years, LaVern Brewer of Rio Rancho; son, Sam Brewer and wife, Betty of Rio Rancho; four granddaughters, Stephanie Rodriguez and husband, Larry of Englewood, CO, Amanda Cuccio and husband, Anthony, Jessica Roush and husband, KC, and Dorinda Brewer, all of Rio Rancho; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Sidney and Dean Brewer, both of Hagerman, NM. Mr. Brewer proudly served his country from November 21, 1942 - December 1, 1945 during WWII. Leon was a member of VFW Post 5890 in Rio Rancho and American Legion Post 29 in Fort Sumner, NM.
