Obituary for WALKER

Mildred F. Walker, 93, passed away, Friday, April 28, 2006 at her home. She was born June 8, 1912 in Vanndale, AR, a daughter of Horace and Edna Fitzgerald. She married Ernest L. Walker, December 4, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away, August 17, 1987. She received a Master's Degree in Home Economics and Agricultural Sciences from the University of Arkansas, in 1942. She was an ardent Razorback fan all of her life. She retired from the Home Extension Service in Northern New Mexico in 1966. She had a second career that began in 1968 in New York City, as Director of Homemaker Services for the New York City Department of Social Services. She retired in 1976, and permanently retired to her beloved New Mexico. Survivors include her daughter, Edna and husband Dale Ayers of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Scott Creange, Albuquerque, NM; Erin Creange Clark, Littleton, CO, Gregory Dale Ayers, Paintsville, KY, Michael Clarence Ayers, Albuquerque, NM; four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Connor, Angus, and Jackson. Also surviving is her sister, Lorene Taylor, Grapevine, TX: and her beloved Kitty, Jezabel. Memorial Services will be conducted Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at the First Spanish Fruit Avenue Baptist Church , 812 Fruit Ave. NW.
