Obituary for TOWNSEND

Iva Lucille Townsend, 90, went home to the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2006, after a short illness. Lucille has resided at Woodmark Assisted Living in Albuquerque, NM for the past five years. She previously lived most of her life in and around Denver, CO. Lucille was active in retired senior citizen volunteer groups for 22 years, was a member of the Avondale Lutheran Church sewing circle in Denver CO for 12 years. Lucille made beautiful quilts and was well known for her unusual color selections. She was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church also in Denver, CO. Lucille also lived in West Linn, OR and enjoyed fishing a great deal. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Jessie (Schuyler) Hurt; and her husband, Lyle DeWayne Townsend; one sister, Freeda Cade and one brother, Billie Hurt. Lucille is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Diane Nelson and husband, Terence of Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons; Ryan Galey and wife, Karin of Albuquerque, NM and Reid Galey and wife, Mary Beth of Minnetonka, MN. Lucille is also survived by one brother, Wilbur Hurt and wife Shirley of Longmont, CO; and one sister, Leona Millikan and husband, Charles of Morgansfield, KY. Lucille will be remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to care for others. Entombment will take place at the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Littleton, CO in care of Olingers-Chapel Hill Funeral Home. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd., NE (505) 823-9400
