Obituary for SCRIVNER

Gerald L. Scrivner was born June 24, 1920 in Tatum, NM and died Sunday, April 23, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by three wives, Helen Brinkman, Candis Curfman, and Helen Nolan; two children, Margaret and William; his parents, Clarence and Pearl Scrivner; and five siblings. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Barbara Seaton and husband, Terry; son, John Scrivner and wife, Victoria; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Scrivner; son-in-law, Dan Morrison; step-daughters, Candis Ann Darken and husband, Byron and Christine Parker; four grandchildren; three siblings, WC, Maleta, and Alvin Scrivner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a construction superintendent for Rutherford Construction Co. and for Summit Construction Co. Gerald was a master carpenter and fashioned many pieces of furniture including portions for the interior of Eastern Hills Baptist and Hoffmantown Churches. He loved the woods and hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Gerald was an active member of the Baptist Church and was most recently a member of the First Baptist Church in Taos, NM. He was an honest, generous, and hardworking man who helped many people in times of need. Services will be held Thursday, April 27, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Pastor James Nickell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 624 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit at French Mortuary on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
