Maximo Reyes June 25, 1947 - March 3, 2006 Our beloved brother entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior in Albuquerque, NM. Maximo was born in Roswell, NM to Manuel and Sylvia Reyes. He was a 1965 graduate of Goddard High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1966. Maximo completed two Vietnam tours, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and was Honorably discharged in 1970. He spent 35 years in the food industry as a Manager and Head Chef and enjoyed his work while touching the hearts of many of his fellow co-workers. Maximo lived a full life doing what he did best, preparing meals and making sure everyone had plenty to eat along with seasoning his work with fun and laughter. His most recent employment was at "The Albuquerque Regional Medical Center." Maximo was preceded in death by his parents and by his nephew, Carlos Escobar. He is survived by his three sons, Paul, Mark, and Roman Reyes; one brother, Willie Rosales and wife, Jane; three sisters, Terry Duran and husband, Rick, Elvira Torres and husband, Jesus, and Lupe Morales and friend, Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews who love him very much. Maximo was proud to be an American and believed strongly in what this Nation stands for and he served it with honor. Our beloved brother, your warm and giving heart was truly unconditional. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to attend the Military Graveside Service for Maximo at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, in Santa Fe, NM, 501 North Guadalupe, where he will be laid to rest on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST.
