Obituary for ZAMORA

Enrique A. "Henry" Zamora, went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at his home in Santa Rosa, NM. Enrique was born February 11, 1912 in Dilia, NM to the home of Ascension and Andrellita Alarid Zamora. He is a Veteran of World War II serving with the 101st Mechanized Calvary Group, 101st Squadron, 7th Army in the Rhineland and Central Europe. Enrique was employed by Charles Ilfield Company for many years both prior and after World War II. He was also employed in later years at the City Food Market and Square Deal Market. He was known for driving his grandchildren to school in his Volkswagon, reading western novels, wearing sweaters, wearing his hat at an angle and working at the polling places during elections. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willie and Napoleon Zamora; and a sister, Stella Samora Vigil. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lugarda Zamora; two sons, Eduardo Zamora and wife, Julia of Bellaire, TX, Andy Zamora and wife, Susie of Santa Rosa; his grandchildren: Andres and Cayetana Zamora of Moriarty, NM, Vicente Zamora and wife, Latisha of Garfield, NM, and Rebecca and Justin Zamora of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are Henry's surrogate grandchildren, Claudia, Benjamin, Antionette Madrid and Celestina Blair; his great-grandchildren, Daniel and Isaiah Thompson, Sumner Dobrava, and Ella Kate Zamora. Rosary Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., also from St. Rose Church, with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Andres Zamora, Vicente Zamora, Claude Salcido, Jr., Lorenzo Sanchez, John Chavez, Michael Velasquez, and Justin Zamora. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe H. Chavez, Jim Brasell, Albert Brasell, George Brasell, Gilbert Brasell, Johnny Rasco, Ernest Sanchez, Albert Sena, Gabe Sena, and Rolando Zamora.
