Robert Emmett Kinney, 81, a resident of Albuquerque for 21 years, died April 1, 2006. Robert was born in Salem, SD, on March 21, 1925, the son of William Eugene and Ethel Julia (Donovan) Kinney. At age 17, he volunteered for the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert was retired from the Civil Service and was a member of Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Following retirement, Robert continued with his gardening and traveled with his wife. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Mary; children, Kevin Kinney and wife Margaret, Anne Kinney, Joan Ojeda and husband David, Nancy Kinney and friend Craig Jessen; grandchildren, Gina, Brianna and Patrick Ojeda, Sean and Danielle Kinney and his sisters, Patricia Knox, Rita MacFarlane, Denise Higgins, and Mary Janet Carroll. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Sunrise Funeral Options; 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE with Deacons Lloyd Martinez and Paul Ortwerth reciting. Mass of the Resurrection will be 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd NE, with Father Robert Lancaster as celebrant.
