Obituary for CREWE

Mary Sue Wood Crewe, age 85, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann Hutchinson and husband, Les of Nashville, TN and Cynthia Sue Scott of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Suzanne Scott of Albuquerque and Louise Collins and husband, Michael of Nashville, TN; and great-grandson, Jackson Collins. Sue was born in Graysonia, AR on September 8, 1920 and is preceded in death by her parents, William Berry and Della Dane Wood, and her sister, Polly Watson of Albuquerque. She obtained her RN in 1941 and served in the Army Nurses Corps in WWII. Through her career she was a surgical nurse and a public health nurse in Roswell, NM; started the first alcohol treatment program for the state of NM in Roswell; opened and was administrator of the Roswell Physical Rehabilitation Hospital; was Associate Administrator of Bernalillo County Mental Health Center; and was the first Administrator of UNM Children's Psychiatric Hospital. Sue retired from UNM in 1985 after 40 years of dedicated service in the health field. Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 1, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Humane Association of NM, Inc., 615 Virginia, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
