| Helen S. Poindexter, 71, long-time elementary school teacher, civil rights activist, community volunteer, and recent resident of Albuquerque, NM, died January 13, 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Maranto of Hope, AR, and Lauren Wommack of Bryan, TX; her son, Gary Poindexter of Roswell, NM; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
