Obituary for MORTENSEN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Monday February 27, 2006

Norma Louise Mortensen, 72 and a resident of Rio Rancho, died February 22, 2006. She was born February 22, 1934, in Sedan, IA, to John Marvin and Annabelle West. Except for a couple of years working at various companies, Norma's joy was being a housewife and mother. She loved to crochet and embroider. She would embrace a good romance novel at times as well, but the thing for which she will most be remembered is her love for her family. She lived her life as an angel and her family will greatly miss her. To Mother: We will always love you and look forward to our reunion. Norma is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herman A. Mortensen; sons, Craig Mortensen and wife, Sueanne of Rio Rancho and Keith Mortensen of Rio Rancho; daughter, Judy Mortensen of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Kayla, Kally, Kristofer, and Cody Mortensen; brother, Roger Marvin and wife, Becky of Iowa; sisters, Eloise Mathes and husband, Lloyd, Marylene Whicker and husband, Phil, and Mary Hawkins, all of Iowa, Virginia Ruth and husband, Vaughn of Missouri, and Dianne Bogle and husband, Tom of Arkansas. On behalf of Norma, her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all dear friends and relatives who were so kind and supportive during this very difficult time in their lives. Graveside Service, with Bishop J.C. Bowerman conducting, is today, Monday, February 27, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road in Rio Rancho. Honorary pallbearers will be: Thomas Gallegos, William Carr, Paul McKenney, Tony Baker, Robert Maxwell and Brian Caldwell. Arrangements by Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary 892-9920
