Obituary for CRAVENS

Gayle Hall Cravens, 81, a resident of Elephant Butte, NM for four months, died on February 20, 2006 from complications caused by several chronic diseases. She was born on January 27, 1925 in Chickashaw, OK to Russell Sylvan Thompson and Elizabeth (Austin) Thompson. Gayle was a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1956 and moved to Elephant Butte, NM four months ago. She and her husband, Jack, helped in the creation of Los Altos Christian Church on the east side of Albuquerque. She was an exceptional bridge player and won many tournaments and trophies through the years. Gayle was a travel agent for eight years. She also did a lot of sewing and quilting and made many beautiful quilts through the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gayle is survived by four children - sons - Tom Hall of Arlington, TX and Dave Hall of Sacramento, CA; daughters - Melinda Gibson and husband, John, of Tularosa, NM, and Marilyn Haynie and husband, John, of TorC, NM; grandchildren - Laurie Van Tatenhove of Denver, CO and Michelle and Michael Hall of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law - Jean Thompson of El Paso, TX. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Kirikos Family Funeral Home, Inc. and Sierra Crematory, LLC, 303 N. Cedar St., (TorC).
