Obituary for SHERIFF

Margaret Lillian Blanton Ballinger Sheriff, 80, born to Ralph and Edna Blanton, May 17, 1925, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on Friday, February 24, 2006. She was preceded in death by her WWII love, Joseph Ballinger and is survived by their children: Steve and Lyn Ballinger, Judy and Bill Baxter, Joanne and Lowell Pearson, and Susan and Toby Blossom; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was her "late in life" love, Truett Sheriff and is survived by his children: Monica and Gary Landreth, Randall and Mary Sheriff, Jane and Earl Ramsey, and John and Carol Sheriff; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. After the death of her first husband, Margaret went back to school and earned an Associate's Degree in Senior Adult Studies and began working in the C.A.R.E. Senior Adult Ministry at the First Baptist Church. In 1983, she married Truett Sheriff, the co-founder of C.A.R.E. They continued serving together in C.A.R.E. for almost 20 years, until his death in 2003. She continued serving in C.A.R.E. until 2005 when she became homebound. Services celebrating Margaret's life will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE. Ennichement will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to C.A.R.E. - First Baptist Church, P.O.
