Obituary for MOORE

Dolores Garcia Moore entered into rest on February 23, 2006 after fighting a brave, hard, but short lived battle with lung cancer. She was born April 10, 1930 in San Acacia, NM. Dolores lived in Socorro, NM for most of her life until she relocated to Albuquerque. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Julian and Rosa Garcia; brothers, Lorenzo and Matias, her son, Richard; and two daughters, Virginia and Jesusita. She is survived by her son, John Anaya of Albuquerque; daughters, Liz Abalos of Denver, CO, and Adella Meuller of Kansas City, KS, Eva Kempton of Socorro, NM, and Valentina Soto of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Otero of Los Lunas, NM, Lucy Newton and husband, Bill of Elephant Butte, NM, and Olivia Arbuckle of Normal, IL; brothers, Julian Garcia Jr., and his wife, Priscilla of Elephant Butte, NM, and Raymond Garcia and his wife, Lucy of Socorro, NM. Dolores is also survived by her 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Dolores will always be remembered by her quote, "I wished I would have never started smoking." She was a strong and loving mother. We will miss her dearly.
