Obituary for MONTOYA

Theresa Montoya died Sunday, February 12, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 77. As a military wife she traveled and lived around the world. She enjoyed singing her whole life and was a member of an award winning choir. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Montoya, and son, Joseph D. Montoya. Mrs. Montoya is survived by her sons, E. Michael Montoya and wife, Karen of Rhode Island, Paul Fred Montoya, and Peter A. Montoya and wife, Patricia, all of Belen, NM; daughters, Anita J. Baca and husband, Mac of Belen, NM, Maria Felicita Navarrette and husband, Cain, and Flora Celestina Blair, all of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Dolores Montoya; brother, Ted Sandoval and wife, Esther; sisters, Rebecca J. Salazar and husband, Lester, and Christina Lucero and husband, Adolph, all of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Montoya will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. also at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Montoya, David Montoya, Joseph Montoya, Roberto Baca, Matthew Jaramillo, Charles Montoya, Joseph Jaramillo, Edward Montoya, and Daniel Blair. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 525 San Pedro NE, Suite 101, Albuquerque, NM, 87108.
