Obituary for GONZALES

Matias Gonzales, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, February 12, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Alvina Gonzales; children, Raymond Gonzales and wife, Linda of Cincinnati, OH, Peggy Lopez-Oneil and husband, Pat of Rio Rancho; Beatriz Gonzales and husband, Dave Moore of Albuquerque, Pauline Roybal of Las Cruces, Patrick Gonzales and wife, Maria of Gonzales Ranch, NM, Geneva Pacheco and husband, Juan of Albuquerque, Sadie Nelson and husband, Raymond of Mustang, OK, and Randy Gonzales of Mustang, OK; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tommy Gonzales, Alfredo Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, and Don Gonzales. Matias was born and raised at Gonzales Ranch, NM where he learned to work 300 acres of land by planting, cultivating, and harvesting pinto beans, wheat, alfalfa, and a variety of vegetables. He also raised livestock and poultry. Matias moved to Albuquerque in 1957 and worked as a warehouse foreman until retirement. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas NE. Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
